Recommended places to eat
Looking for somewhere to eat?
I wanted to provide information on places that I recommend here in Spain, that are run by the local Spanish residents. I have not been rewarded for any of my recommendations, they are based on personal visits and service on that day.
Information is correct at time of publishing, please ensure you check with the business - some close during winter season.

La Parrilla
This Spanish owned and run bar, restaurant, and hotel offer a variety of cuisine. We have enjoyed their menu del dia, with well prepared simple food, large portions and excellent value for money

Cocina Analia (Mirador)
This Spanish run bar and restaurant offer a relaxed environment overlooking the rambla, serving traditional gastronomy and fine drinks

Carrillo Bar
This is THE bar to recommend. The owners Andres and Maria, their family and other staff members are very friendly, they run that bar and kitchen brilliantly, and the whole place is spotlessly clean. There's a mix of Spanish and English clientele, everyone is made to feel welcome. Carrillo's have an excellent selection of drinks. And a great menu to choose from, see the link provided

Asador Ruta 40 - Venta del Peral - Área de Servicio
Exceptionally beautiful food. I have been a veggie for 4 years, but simply HAD to try some of the meat platter that came out, my mouth was watering just from smelling it. I wasn't disappointed. I can also recommend the goat cheese salad. Portions are very generous so make sure you go there hungry, otherwise you will miss out on the delicious freshly baked puddings....another recommendation for you, the cheesecake! If you have a family celebration, this is the ideal place to go. Autovía A92 N, km 58, 18850 Cúllar, Granada -

Marcelo Entre Tapas
We were first introduced to the lovely friendly Argentinian couple Marisa & Marcelo in 2017, they own Marcelo Entre Tapas, in Mojacar. Their tapas bar is definitely worth a visit next time you're in Mojacar Playa. Such a quaint, adorable place. The food is heavenly, so delicious. Highly recommended.

Asador El Castillo /Castle
Before going to order your meal, pop over to the other side and check out the views from the 18th century castle fort ruins, they are stunning. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with the ability to sit either inside or out. Even if you sit inside, there are large windows that can open up and let the sea breeze through and the views are breathtaking. It is a Spanish run restaurant, so we use our limited Spanish and get by OK. The staff we found to be friendly and the food and drink delicious.Jaun, 04648 San Juan de los Terreros, Almería -
mapChiringuito Henrok
We love San Juan Beach. We've visited here over many years on holiday, and it was in Henrocks (when it was just a bar) that we decided to get engaged. Henrocks is now a lovely popular restaurant that specialised in skewers, paellas and fresh fish. They cook their fish over a BBQ made from an old rowing boat, their fish is to die for!!! With views of the beach and friendly staff, what more would you want?
