How to get a good nights sleep

Are you having difficulty sleeping?

There’s only so many nights that you can attempt to fall asleep to the soundtrack of your other half snoring, waking up multiple times in one night to the neighbourhood dogs’ choir practice, or coming around to the sound of your loveable pooch licking his nether regions. Not without the overwhelming urge to smother with a pillow; shout obscenities out of the window; or throw a shoe across the room! After many months of interrupted slumber, I was getting desperate for a good night’s sleep and after trying many of the traditional methods, I was on a mission to find something that worked for me, and something that was a healthy option and didn’t involve popping a sleeping pill!

Traditional methods that may help you sleep are:

  • Keep to a routine
  • Be careful what you eat and drink before bed (No alcohol and no caffeine!)
  • A nice soak in the bath or a warm shower
  • Essential oils
  • Limit daytime naps
  • Increase physical activities
  • Closing all electronics down at least an hour before bed
  • Paying attention to the room temperature
I have tried them all. One, some, or all the above just didn’t work for me when I needed them the most.

Have you heard of SLEEPBAND?

It was whilst flicking through Instagram that I first noticed an advert for SLEEPBAND. I skipped over it, ignoring it like all the adverts that pop up. However, one morning after walking through treacle and wanting to bite the heads off small children, I gave in when it popped back in my newsfeed. I read the write-up, I scrutinised the reviews… and I went to look at cheaper alternatives.

But I kept being drawn back to these particular headphones, something was pulling me to them, and the company selling them. The SLEEPBAND looked sleek, soft, and comfortable. The company’s mission jumped out at me with the promise to ‘revolutionize the world by providing an effective medium for sleep and relaxation’ and the fact that they wanted to help us to ‘improve sleep quality and enjoy a better night’s sleep every night’. Their ethos was music to my ears. I thought it sounded too good to be true.

I contacted the company and asked them If I could try a pair in exchange to write about my experience with them, and I was surprised and thrilled when they said that they would send me a SLEEPBAND. Not only did they do what they promised, but I received regular emails with useful content to get me started on my goal for better sleep, and the item arrived in less than a week. So far, so good! (They are based in Miami and I live in Spain. The product is manufactured in the United States and China. They ship from China, Australia and the United States)

After charging the SLEEPBAND I couldn’t wait until bedtime, so I slid them on my head and used them whilst hoovering. It took me a while to work out how to turn them on, but with the help of their FAQs I soon realised that I had to hold down the play button for 5 seconds until the light started flashing. I couldn’t believe how comfortable they were. The thin, padded noise-cancelling speakers allowed me to do the housework without the discomfort of my usual headphones.

That’s when it hit me, that SLEEPBAND isn’t just for sleeping in. They are also useful for listening to music and podcasts when doing the housework; out walking; at the gym, partaking in an online classes, meditating or listening to social media reels without interrupting my husband who is trying to watch MotoGP!

You may have gathered that I really like the SLEEPBAND, in fact I am impressed for several reasons:
  1. The band’s very comfortable to wear, the material is breathable and easy to wash
  2. The band doubles as a sleep mask
  3. You connect to your devices by Bluetooth

  5. The battery lasts THREE full nights when fully charged

So, yes. I am thrilled with the SLEEPBAND and am very grateful that they agreed to send me one through to test and write about on my blog #FeedsMySoul.
