Places to Stay in and Around the Almanzora Valley That I Would Recommend

Choosing the right place to stay can shape your whole experience of Spain, especially if you love exploring on foot. This page brings together a small selection of places I personally recommend, based on real stays, local knowledge, and trusted connections rather than paid partnerships. From peaceful countryside retreats to well-placed town stays, these accommodations are ideal bases for walking in Spain, whether you are heading out for long rambles, gentle local routes, or simply want somewhere comfortable to return to after a day outdoors.

ALMANZORA / CANTORIA

ALMERÍA CITY and COAST

AIRE Hotel and Ancient Baths Housed in an elegant 19th-century building in the heart of Almería, this hotel combines historical charm with modern comfort. The highlight here is the ancient baths experience and rooftop terrace — ideal for a special occasion or a touch of urban Spanish heritage. Visit the AIRE Hotel website

MOON Aguadulce Hotel I loved my stay here. It's a stylish, thoughtfully designed place to stay that feels calm and considered from the moment you arrive. It strikes a nice balance between comfort and character, with attention to detail that makes it feel more personal than a standard hotel. Well located for exploring the coast and surrounding area, I loved looking over the marina from my balcony. This place is special! Visit the Moon Hotel website

CÚLLAR

Del Perel A simple, clean and comfortable motel on the outskirts of Cúllar on the A-92. I’ve stayed here a couple of times around local walks and functions. The rooms are basic but the beds are comfortable and the restaurant beneath serves excellent food — especially the steak. Visit Del Perel website

SERÓN

The Old Spanish Mill I highly recommend this beautifully restored water mill near Serón, Almería, particularly for group stays. Set in a serene and picturesque location, it’s ideal for retreats focusing on health, fitness, wellbeing, yoga or artistic pursuits. Spacious and peaceful, it offers an unforgettable backdrop for disconnecting from everyday bustle. Visit The Old Spanish Mill
